The JDPBRN 2nd annual meeting was held at Tokyo International Exchange Center in Tokyo on 18 November 2012.

First of all, JDPBRN's director Dr. Naoki Kakudate gave the keynote lecture "First step of Dental PBRN Japan".

As a special guest from US via Skype (www.skype.com), the National Dental PBRN's director Dr. Gregg Gilbert gave a memorial lecture entitled "The new United States National Dental Practice-Based Research Network. Participants were very impressed and encourage by his speech.

In the workshop session “What is the patient-centered clinical research in Japanese dentistry”, attendees separated into four groups for discussions. These results will lead to the next theme of JDPBRN studies. This workshop provided a great opportunity for practitioners to share research questions from daily clinical practice and exchange opinions with other JDPBRN members.

Conclusively, the second annual JDPBRN meeting was successfully held in Tokyo and attendees had a great change to discuss with other practitioners from all over Japan and to hear Dr. Gregg Gilbert`s presentation from Birmingham, Alabama, USA via the online live system about the landscape and vision of the national DPBRN.
